RACP Australian or New Zealand Trainees or Fellows, members of the Chapter of Community Child Health, members of the Paediatric Society of New Zealand, and affiliate members of the Chapter of Community Child Health Special Interest Groups |
| Criteria: |
- Work must have been carried out in Australia or New Zealand
- The Award is for excellence of hypothesis, scientific merit, relevance to Community Child Health and oral presentation at the Paediatrics & Child Health Annual Meeting
- For the purpose of this award, Community Child Health will include those topics dealing with children with special needs, or population paediatrics in one of the following categories:
- child disability
- child development and behaviour
- child protection
- child health surveillance and screening
- health promotion
- health protection and disease control

Best Poster Prize in Paediatrics & Child Health Division

| Criteria: |
The Prize is for excellence of hypothesis, scientific merit and poster presentation at the Paediatrics & Child Health Annual Meeting |

- Presenters will be required to be available at the specified times to answer questions
- On recommendation from the Paediatric Scientific Program Committee, a judging panel will be provided with a list of those posters eligible for consideration for the Best Poster Prize.
- Presenters will offer their abstracts for publication in the Journal of Paediatrics and Child Health

PRSANZ Research Award

Open to: |
PRSANZ (Paediatric Research Society of Australia and New Zealand) Australian and New Zealand members. Candidate must be members of PRSANZ at the time of both abstract submission and presentation. |
| Criteria: |
- The research must have been carried out in Australia or New Zealand.
- The research should be in the field of paediatrics, child public health, or basic science with demonstrated applicability to or implications for understanding or management of diseases of childhood.
- Both clinicians and non-clinicians will be eligible for the Award.
- If the applicant is a member of a team, the presenter must have made a significant contribution to the planning and conduct of the project and analysis of the data.
- The Award is for excellence of a research project and will be judged on the basis of the presentation at the Paediatrics & Child Health Annual Meeting, including originality, stated hypothesis and objectives, study methods, data analyses, and conclusions and implications of the results for child health.

- Presenters will offer their abstracts for publication in the Journal of Paediatrics and Child Health.
- The PRSANZ offers a number of travel grants to assist young researchers in paediatrics and child health who have had abstracts accepted for presentations, to attend the Physicians Week.

Congress Dates: 17 - 20 May 2009
Abstract submissions for Physicians Week 2009 have now closed.
Early Registration Closes: 21 March 2009
Accommodation Booking Deadline: 9 April 2009
A minimum one night’s deposit must be paid or credit card details given at time of booking to guarantee reservation. Bookings made after 9 April 2009 must be secured with credit card details.
Abstract Submissions Now Closed
Presenters will be advised of their status during mid-March.
